1964 — The Beginning
Kailash began its journey in 1964 at Nanpura, Surat, founded by Shri Krishanchand Gyanchand Ahuja.
What began as a small sweets and snacks shop was built upon traditional recipes, carefully selected ingredients and a deep respect for authentic Indian taste.
In an era when food was made with patience and every recipe carried a story, Kailash established itself through consistency, warmth and trust.
The affection of our customers became the foundation upon which generations of Kailash would build.

1968 — The Taste That Built Our Legacy
As Kailash grew, certain flavours became synonymous with the name.
Among the early favourites were:
- Chai
- Gulab Jamun
- Bengali Chhena
- Dry Fruit Sweets
- Traditional Indian sweets and delicacies
These were more than products.
They became part of the everyday and festive life of Surat.
Over the decades, Kailash sweets found their way into family gatherings, festive tables, gifting traditions and celebrations across generations.
A Sweet Tradition, Celebrated Across Generations
Diwali brought the richness of Kaju Katli to festive tables.
Eid brought the warmth of Peda into celebrations and gifting.
During Rakhi, boxes of sweets became expressions of affection between brothers and sisters.
Uttarayan brought the unmistakable Surat spirit of Fafda, Jalebi and festive indulgence.
During Ganpati celebrations, traditional sweets such as Modak became part of the festive spirit.
And through Navratri, weddings, family occasions and countless celebrations, Kailash continued to be a part of the moments Suratis cherish.
For us, festivals are not simply occasions on a calendar.
They are memories—and sweets have always been part of those memories.

1980 — Indian Authentic Beverages
Kailash expanded beyond sweets and introduced a selection of authentic Indian beverages.
Lassi and Coco became part of the Kailash experience, bringing refreshment alongside the brand’s growing repertoire of traditional foods.
It was another expression of Kailash’s ability to evolve naturally with its customers—expanding the experience while remaining rooted in Indian culinary culture.

1988 — Growing Beyond Our Roots
As customer trust continued to grow, Kailash expanded its business and culinary repertoire.
New opportunities brought new formats, but our approach remained unchanged:
Respect the recipe.
Respect the ingredient.
Respect the guest.
The brand continued to evolve while protecting the traditional flavours and values that had created its identity.

1995 — The Beginning of Our Catering Journey
In 1995, Kailash entered a new dimension of hospitality through catering.
Food began travelling beyond our outlets and into weddings, celebrations, social gatherings and special occasions.
This marked an important shift in our philosophy.
We were no longer only creating food for customers to enjoy.
We were creating food to become part of their occasions, their celebrations and their memories.
From serving guests to hosting experiences.

1998 — Kailash Sweets & Snacks, Adajan
In 1998, Kailash expanded its presence with Kailash Sweets & Snacks in Adajan.
The new establishment brought the familiar Kailash experience to another part of Surat, strengthening our relationship with an ever-growing community of customers.
A new neighbourhood, a new generation of guests—yet the same commitment to taste and quality.

2003 —Varachha
In 2003, Kailash expanded its culinary repertoire with Delhi Chaat, bringing the vibrant flavours and unmistakable character of Delhi-style street food to Surat.
The same chapter saw the brand’s expansion into Varachha, with a new-style Kailash outlet designed around an evolving customer experience.
It was another moment where tradition met a changing India.
Classic flavours. Contemporary expression.

2018 — Signature Palette
In 2018, Kailash elevated its catering journey with Signature Palette.
The idea was no longer simply to serve exceptional food.
It was to curate a complete culinary and guest experience.
With greater emphasis on:
- Presentation
- Hospitality
- Service
- Food quality
- Guest experience
- Attention to detail
Signature Palette became an important milestone in Kailash’s evolution into a more sophisticated catering and hospitality brand.
From a menu to a curated experience.
From catering to hospitality.

26 February 2025 — Kailash Sweets, Althan
On 26 February 2025, Kailash expanded into Althan, near Shyam Mandir, with a new Kailash Sweets outlet.
The new establishment carries forward the familiar Kailash legacy into one of Surat’s evolving neighbourhoods.
A new address.
A timeless taste.

1 September 2025 — YETI BISTRO
A New Expression of Kailash
On 1 September 2025, Kailash introduced YETI Bistro, a new-generation food concept located on Dumas Road, Surat.
YETI Bistro is designed as a Quick Service Restaurant, bringing together modern snacks, contemporary sweets and a more youthful food experience.
Created with the sensibilities of Gen Z and today’s evolving consumer, YETI Bistro represents a different expression of the Kailash philosophy.
It is faster.
More contemporary.
More experimental.
But beneath the new language is the same heritage.
Six decades of experience.
Reimagined for a new generation.

2026 — Modern Contemporary Sweets
YETI Bistro continues to push the boundaries of what contemporary Indian sweets can become.
In 2026, the concept explores a new generation of desserts and modern interpretations of familiar Indian flavours.
Among these contemporary expressions are:
Dutch Kaju Katli
A modern interpretation of one of India’s most iconic festive sweets, bringing the richness of Kaju Katli into a contemporary dessert experience.
Biscoff Kaland
A playful reinterpretation of the traditional Kaland, combining familiar Indian sweetness with a globally recognisable Biscoff-inspired flavour profile.
These creations represent a new philosophy:
Indian at heart. Contemporary by design.
YETI Bistro allows Kailash to speak to a younger generation without losing the culinary memory that built the brand.
